Fireworks for Africa is thrilled to announce the opening of their new Cape Town office. “We have been looking for the right person to run the office for a while. We finally settled on David Boshard for his experience, commitment and overall love of all things explosive! We think he’ll be a great asset to both our clients and our team,” says Nick Mitri, owner of Fireworks for Africa.
Who is David Boshard?
After matriculating from Victoria Park High School, Port Elizabeth in 1994, David studied Lighting and Sound at Pretoria Technikon. In his second year, he was very fortunate to work under Alan Muller of FX Unlimited and cut his teeth on the fireworks displays at the Fourways Christmas celebrations. He went on to handle a range of pyrotechnic effects from air-bursts to hand-firing fireworks.
David was selected for a permanent position at Ratanga Junction and spent three, fulfilling years handling pyrotechnics, magazine management and weapons control. David eventually left Ratanga Junction to work in sales and operations in the entertainment industry but always missed the hands-on element of pyrotechnics. His dream has now been realised as he’s been appointed to run the Cape Town office of Fireworks for Africa. He’s ready to, once again, get his hands dirty with all manner of exploding special effects!
