2. Groundbreaking Stadium Chase in T20 World Cup CricketFireworks for Africa was asked to create something 'out of the ordinary' for the T20 World Cup Cricket opening & closing ceremonies. New stadium pyrotechnics, which are specifically designed for sports events and stadium use, were specially brought in for the occasion. The mines & comets used were low-smoke and fall-out free & they used these to pioneer new ground by creating the first ever 'stadium chase'! "We had 10 positions on the field, with one of our radio units at each position. As the cue was given, the pyrotechnics chased back and forth and sped up, until all ten positions fired simultaneously. Judging by the crowd's response & the TV commentators' reactions, the display was a showstopper!" says Nick Mitri, the owner of Fireworks for Africa.
The team also fired off the replay screens at Wanderers, Newlands and Kingsmead for the night games and closed the World Cup with mines, comets, gerbs and their, now famous, confetti blowers. Contact Fireworks for Africa - request a quote for your sporting event! |
